NEW GITANE NYLON STRING FLAMENCO SOLID CEDAR w CYPRESS D HOLE GYPSY JAZZ GUITAR
Features
In the 1930's, a legendary French Luthier/Designer produced a guitar that was far ahead of its time. It featured a new body shape with a cutaway shoulder; it was fan-braced for gut strings (the precursor to nylon) and was marketed to Classical players. This revolutionary guitar was so radical for its time and as a result, never gained the attention it deserved. Fast forward to today and Saga, the makers of the quality line of Gitane Gypsy Jazz guitars, have resurrected this guitar and take it to the next level. The cutaway shoulder offers new possibilities for all players who prefer nylon strings, and the exclusive combination of Port Orford cedar for the top and Cypress for back, sides and neck produces a bright, clear and powerful tone that appeals to the Flamenco crowd as well as Classical and Gypsy players. Where the original 1930 guitar had a short, abbreviated fan bracing pattern, our new DG-560 has the standard Torres-inspired pattern of 7 long fan struts to bring more of the top area into play for the maximum tone and projection. The new Gitane DG-560 is truly an improved, modern version of a Classic design that is bound to win followers in many different styles of today's music!
